Hey guys. Alot has been happening the last couple days, and you all deserve to know whats going on. So in this post I will try to explain what happened, what we're going to do about it, and where we are going in the future.
Several months ago, when we changed to the TS before Bobs TS, we(the council) kicked around the idea of Discord. We played around with it, and decided at the time that TS was still our best option. Some time Later, a clan member came up with the idea to start a discord and get us all to switch. This member went to several people individually, trying to get his ball rolling, but never came to the Council as a whole, or the clan with this. After being told no, to wait, and that we(the council) would talk about it, went and did it anyways.
Several months go by and now there is an entire community over on this discord. All these people think they're clan members, as that is what they were told, that we would all be going over there. This discord already had a leadership, channels, an entire seperate community. We put it up to a council vote on what to do about this. The options were to Migrate the clan VOIP to Discord, Ask that the Discord in the Core Clan name be shut down or the name be changed, or do both. It was thought to be unanimously decided to Shut it down. However, we did not know 10 Pounds could vote, and did not know Maiden had not voted yet. We then informed the member of our decision, and told them they could either have everyone come over here, or change the name of the discord. Keep in mind, this vote was on what to do with THAT discord, not weather we should use discord. This person then went behind our back again to start problems in the clan. Passing misinformation, telling people there is a power struggle, ect.
Yesterday, the Council had scheduled a meeting, and we all sat down and talked. We went over the options, and decided Discord was the best way to go. We approached the member and let them know. We offered to migrate everyone over to OUR discord, and as long as they filled out clan apps, they would all be accepted. This member was stalling the whole time, saying they were trying to "convince" people to come over, just a shit ton of drama. It was then discovered that this member had been conspiring against us the whole time. This wasnt about trying to help CoRe, it was about trying to start a new clan and poaching our members. This member is no longer with us, and has unfortunately taken some of our members with them. They decided to split and make their own community.
So that being said, we are in fact switching to Discord. It has many benefits, that we could just not pass up. The Discord is up now. There is a link on the portal where you can join, or click THIS LINK. You can either use the Web app, Download the windows app(recommended), or mobile! Looking into the future, switching to Discord gives us the option of completely redoing the website, with all new integration, so look forward to that!
I hope this clears everything up. There was no struggle in the clan leadership, the clan isnt falling apart. This was simply the case of a rogue member starting a coup. If anyone has any questions feel free to fire away, and we will answer them the best we can.
