Position Summary:
Principal architect for business and datacenter products. The position understands business needs today and the trajectory of business change. Partners with sales team, engineering, and various stakeholders to provide a managed services strategy and facilitate product delivery and ongoing management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Derive measurable value from a uniquely positioned datacenter in unique and effective ways.
Deliver Marketing Requirements Document (MRD) and Product Requirements Document (PRD) with prioritized product features and corresponding justifications.
Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing and operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Grow revenues and increase the number of managed services accounts.
Within 2 months work with key senior managers to develop a ‘key customer’ profile and utilize experience to assist with developing an account contact list.
Ensure operational efficiency, cost control, and margin growth by introducing effective processes and best of breed applications.
Lead the development of an end-to-end product support process.
Lead partner assessment and negotiations with suppliers; and manage ongoing vendor relationship relating to product.
Be the subject matter expert on managed services products.
Grow knowledge and capacity on other business technology products.
Provide ongoing training to sales teams and be available for sales discussions with clients.
Act as a consultant to new and existing clients to fully understand their operating and production environment and managed services needs.
Execute and maintain delivery of customer systems and services as dictated by managed services contracts.
2012 Key Objectives:
1. Partner with engineering to architect and deliver a suite of datacenter products including recover-to-cloud, on-demand compute, managed productivity, and managed security.
2. Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing datacenter product portfolio, including features, target market, sales support, and communication process.
3. Participate in the sales process to identify specific needs of niche customers, and foster partner relationships, and assist marketing to reach customers.
Preferred Prerequisites:
BS and/or MBA with strong acumen for technology business management or equivalent education and experience
Product management, sales or business development, and/or engineering experience in the data center or telecommunications market.
Familiar with the MTDC industry.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with ability to drive for results through collaboration in a matrixed organization
High ethical standards with focus on ‘doing the right thing’ is a must
Customer oriented, enthusiastic, courteous, and motivated to take charge of both customer engagement and problem resolution
Successful criminal background check and pre-employment drug testing is required prior to the beginning of employment
